WRITING

Mrs. Parkin's class went outside during the end of January to inspire themselves in their writing. We all wrote about what it looked like outside and the trees were covered with snow and we all shared a line from what we wrote and Mrs. Parkin thought it sounded like a little class poem. Then we all wrote our lines on a piece of paper and she put them together so it sounded like a poem it's hanging on the back room door. Here it is:

'Oh my gosh there's snow!!''
Our class walked out into the snow
The snow is falling the snow is falling
I see the snow falling from the tree tops
Thump it escapes from the icy grasp of the trees
It's on the ground
The snow is falling from the trees
Whish... It is silent crushing snow falls white
We do snow forts we make snowmen
I used to love prancing and rolling in the snow
The snow is falling from the trees. The snow is very, very wet
Snow is falling from branches making it look like it's snowing
Naked branches look like skinny old lady arms reaching skyward
The snow is falling fast
The snow is falling the snow is falling everybody is listening and the snow is falling
The snow is very beautiful on the trees
The bushy soft touch of snow
Suddenly I see a flag go up
The snow is falling like rain
The snow is raining
During a snowstorm the wind howls, the snow falls after a snowstorm it's quiet and white
Calmness floods over you washing all your worries away
The snow falls until it finds it's home

MATH
We just wrapped up unit 8- area and perimeter.  We are moving really quickly through math because Mrs. Parkin is leaving and she wants to put as much as she can into our heads. If anyone needs help they can come in early.

NEXUS 7's
We are trying to figure out how we can use them more. We do mystery class with Mrs. Colfer's class and we use our Nexus 7's to try to find the clues and use Google earth to see where we are. And we did a little research project. We chose between bluefin tuna and Maine studies and a few other things I can't remember. We also did a sweet 16 with the Nexus 7's and we narrowed it down to the last two. The last two were comic strip and the fact that we have our own and the champion was the fact that you have your own.
